Exhibit: Gary Blevins, 2025 Sports Artist of the Year In-Person
Gary Blevins lives in Springfield, Ohio. A 1970 graduate of Springfield North High School, he studied at the Dayton Art Institute and later majored in Fine Arts at The Ohio State University. In 2002, he submitted a watercolor of Ohio State Stadium to a university-affiliated marketing company, which licensed it—along with other works—for print sales, marking his shift to a full-time art career.
Influenced by artists like Norman Rockwell and Terry Redlin, and with study experience at the Louvre in Paris, Blevins works across many styles and media, including oil, acrylic, and egg tempera. His subjects range from landscapes and portraits to sports, wildlife, and religious scenes.
