Introduction to Photography Course Session 2 In-Person

Learn how to take great photographs! Join artist and educator Heather Ballard in a four-week digital photography course. All levels are welcome, and everything learned in the class can be applied to most cameras - DSLR, mirrorless, film (SLR), and even a phone!

Session 1: Dive into camera basics, including settings and exposure, so you can get to know your camera or phone.

Session 2: Learn to see like a photographer and explore composition, framing, color theory, and light.

Session 3: Explore your camera's settings and modes while looking at motion, depth of field, focusing, and white balance to get you off of Auto mode!

Session 4: Bring it all together, answer questions, and discuss basic editing, file formats, storage options, workflow, etc.

Be sure to bring your camera or phone fully charged with a memory card if needed. You are welcome to bring tripods and any additional lenses or accessories you may have.

This program is intended for patrons aged 18 and above.

If you are unable to attend, please notify the library no fewer than 24 hours before the program. Repeated no-shows will result in a two-month suspension from program registration. Late arrivals (15 minutes after program start) will not be admitted and will count as a no-show.
