Understanding and Responding to Dementia-related Behaviors

Understanding and Responding to Dementia-related Behaviors In-Person

Artist Bill Franz will discuss the inspiration and process for his exhibit Jobs from A to Z (Woodbourne Library June 14 - July 25) with his father-in-law Wally Willaman who has Alzheimer's. Along with Bill, the Alzheimer's Association will present a one-hour program entitled "Understanding and Responding to Dementia-related Behaviors." Behavior is a powerful form of communication and is one of the primary ways for people with dementia to communicate their needs and feelings as the ability to use language is lost. However, some behaviors can present real challenges for caregivers to manage. Learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common behavior triggers, and learn strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.

This program is free, but registration is required to enable adequate seating.
